Getaway House in Moodus, CT offers tiny cabins for a peaceful, off-the-grid retreat in a lush forest setting.
Modern life can be stressful. Sure, it's got our advantages (we love electricity and antibiotics), but it's also got more than its fair share of worries, too. The feeling of being constantly connected to all the knowledge in the world is hard! All that connectivity can make it difficult to relax, and sometimes you just want to get off the grid and get away. Next time you're looking for a tranquil, disconnected escape, we've got just the place. Getaway House offers up tiny cabins available for rent all over the country. It's one of the best ways to enjoy an off-the-grid weekend that will let you unplug and chill out. It's the perfect way to reconnect with nature and make some free time for yourself - after all, we all need a little more free time! The Connecticut Getaway House is located in Moodus, CT, a small village of just under 2,000 residents. Check it out:
Moodus is a small village in East Haddam that's an outdoor lover's paradise. The Getaway House is tucked away in the woods, so you'll have lush forested views.
Getaway's tiny cabins are uniquely compact. They're not filled with useless frills, but they provide everything you'll need for a few days' peace.
The cabins range from 140-200 square feet, and you'll have a kitchenette, private bathroom, a queen bed, air conditioning, and heat.
One and two-bed options are available, and dogs are allowed with an additional fee.
Each Getaway has a cell phone lock box. Putting your phone away will truly allow you to connect with nature (and your loved ones, if you're on a group trip).
The fire pit and outdoor chairs are perfect for sitting around a campfire in the evening and making s'mores!
The Machimoodus Getaway outpost features 45 cabins on 86 private acres. There's a one-mile nature trail on the premises, and also a dog park and general store.
You're pretty close to several amazing parks, so you'll have no shortage of places to explore. Devil's Hopyard State Park features waterfalls and a covered bridge.
One great way to tour the park is to enjoy the Vista Trail and Devil's Oven Loop. It's an easy trail that will take you through some of the prettiest scenery here.
The Getaway House is also close to Machimoodus State Park (pictured) and Gillette Castle State Park.
This is such a beautiful area of the state with so much to explore.
