Greetings From
Curated guides from notable locals.
Greetings From celebrates pride of place: a home city, college town, vacation destination, or a favorite locale that just feels right. We've tasked local celebs with sharing the restaurants, businesses, attractions, and hidden gems that make their favorite place so special, so we can all feel the sense of community spirit that comes with experiencing and exploring like a local.
Rumor Has It
The legends, lore, and tales of America.
Marrying investigative journalism with first-person narrative, Rumor Has It invites readers to dig deeper, ask questions, and be curious. This series celebrates the local rumors—fact and fiction—that connect the folklore with an inextricable sense of place. From the eeriness of abandoned places to the Marfa Lights, sightings of Bigfoot roaming through national parks or even a contentious culinary claim or proud piece of town culture, Rumor Has It is a deep dive into the lore and legends that make a place.
The Budget List
Maximizing value on your vacation.
From curated road trips on the cheap to the best free adventures in your state or city, The Budget List highlights everything you need to enjoy a bite-sized adventure—without breaking the bank. We’re being fully transparent so you know what to expect on vacation. This series focuses on free and affordable trip ideas which can include itineraries, accommodations, restaurants, activities (i.e. museums, national parks), train routes, and entire destinations.
Backroad Bites
Exploring the culinary soul of America’s hidden corners.
This series uncovers the unsung heroes of local cuisine—mom-and-pop diners, unassuming food trucks, and cherished neighborhood spots where flavor tells the story of a place. Think weird and funky food trails unique to each state (sonker anyone?), local delicacies, innovative farming, festivals, etc.
Small Business Spotlight
Championing the people and places that make your hometown great.
This series celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit of small business owners across the country, from well-established restaurants to brand-new specialty stores and everything in between. Whether it’s a 100 year-old bakery or a 1 year-old vegan ice cream shop, we’re spotlighting local businesses with an emphasis on underrepresented groups.
Night-inerary
Discovering new experiences under the moonlight.
This outdoor-focused series highlights experiences that you can have only after dark. “Noctourism” is a tourism trend thanks to heightened interest in celestial events and astrology. From Dark Sky Reserves to bioluminescent bays, there are hundreds, if not thousands of experiences across the U.S. that are only open after hours. This series will show readers what’s possible in their hometown or travel destination at night. The focus is on outdoor related experiences but has the potential to expand and include night markets, ghost tours (if not a fit for “Rumor Has It”), etc. Astrology-based stories and celestial events will also fall under this category.
