Once upon a time (in the 1980s), a man by the name of Sandy Ostlund opened up his very own donut shop.

The old bakery in West Fargo had closed, and Sandy decided to occupy what was once that space as his own.

It has only become one of the single most legendary spots in North Dakota in the decades since.

This little donut shop in ND is quite literally famous for its outrageously delicious donuts, made to this day from scratch with the original recipe that skyrocketed Sandy's to the top early on.

The decor on the donuts changes throughout the year with the seasons, and you can even order donuts that look like iconic characters like those you've seen on Sesame Street.

Sandy's Donuts are truly unlike any other donut shop in the world. Sure, we might not have the world-famous Voodoo Donuts around in North Dakota, but we've got Sandy's, and honestly... that's better.
