You’ll Never Believe What’s Hiding in This New Jersey Hotel

Experience "Down to Earth" luxury at this estate nestled into the countryside in New Jersey.

Arriving at Pendry Natirar in Somerset County, New Jersey, feels like stepping onto someone’s beloved country estate. It’s a relaxed nature vacation destination, with plenty of outdoor space and opportunities for laid-back adventures. But what many folks might not know about this enormous property is that there’s actually a real, authentic 10-acre working farm on-site!

First unveiled in October 2024, Pendry Natirar is set among the rolling hills of Somerset County, New Jersey. This renovated Tudor-style mansion is just an hour outside of Manhattan in Somerset County, but it feels like a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This property properly redefines what “the New Jersey getaway” feels like and takes “farm-to-table dining” to a whole new level.

The property is situated on an expansive 500-acre estate. Guests can feel their troubles fade away as they melt into the “countryside” feeling that blends together with the historic charm of this impressive mansion. The modern elegance transports Garden State travelers and visitors away from everyday life and into vacation mode.

The on-site, 10-acre farm doesn’t just serve as a source of fresh produce, herbs, and farm-fresh eggs to the resort’s upscale restaurants and spa—but rather, it sets the scene for some especially spectacular programming, as well. Guests can enjoy immersive, hands-on experiences, such as “Farmer for a Day,” where participants forage for their own fresh eggs, feed sheep, and participate in a rotating selection of seasonal activities.

Another signature experience is called “Wisdom of the Hive.” This opportunity gives visitors a chance to learn about and dive into the intricate world of honeybees through Bee Tours and Honey Tastings at the Natirar Farm Apiary. It’s led by an expert professional beekeeper.

Farm-specific programs are subject to change based on what’s in season, so visitors won’t ever have to experience the same programming twice. Guests can enjoy a chance to taste the fresh bounties of local harvests right at the on-site restaurants, Ninety Acres and Ladd’s Tavern—as well as through The Cooking School at Ninety Acres, which offers an array of classes blending hands-on culinary education with the farm-to-table experiences.

The 68 guestrooms, including 20 suites, are designed to feel warm, welcoming, comfortable, and timeless—as if you’re spending the weekend on a wealthy friend’s classic estate. The luxurious retreat exudes an early-20th-century sense of elegance, with design details such as stately wrought iron gates up to the main entrance, and meticulously preserved historic interiors paying homage to the original home’s stately bones. Don’t miss the mansion’s Great Room space, with its original fireplace, elaborate ceilings, deep wooden paneling, and classic but modern furnishings.
