The Museum Of Medieval Torture In Illinois Is Not For The Faint Of Heart
The Medieval Torture Museum in Chicago offers a chilling glimpse into the past with its extensive collection of torture devices from the Middle Ages.
Ugh, getting caught in traffic is just torture! Or is it? By Medieval standards, a time-consuming commute is a walk in the park. If anyone yearns for the "good old days," make sure they don't go back too far or they may be hitting truly torturous territory. The Medieval Torture Museum in Chicago, Illinois is a great example of what a really, really bad day could look like.
The Medieval Torture Museum is located at 177 N. State St. in the Loop area of Downtown Chicago, right next to the iconic Chicago Theatre.
Inside, the museum is 6,000 square feet of pure terror, as archaic torture devices from the Middle Ages are on full display.
This is never a good sign.
Across eight rooms you'll find a litany of inhumane pain-inflicting devices created by some truly evil minds. Many of the exhibits are interactive and can even be tested by visitors.
The museum says it created these horrific displays to educate the public on how these real devices were used in history — or else risk repeating it.
Think you're having a bad day? This man is a human barbecue.
Fortunately, if you break the law today it's unlikely you'd be subjected to any of these tools of destruction.
