Off U.S. Highway 189, this concrete hot spring pool is decorated by the surrounding rich woods and along Granite Creek. With all of the lovely fir, spruce, and pine trees, it feels like you're on a Christmas tree farm. Admission is charged to soak in the tub, and facilities include a bathroom and picnic tables. The warmer season operates from late May through the end of October and the winter season lasts from early December until the beginning of April.
  • Fossil Butte National Monument (Kemmerer): Imagine a place that collects freshwater fish fossils. This is one of the world's largest deposits of prehistoric fossils! More than 75 fossils are on display, including a 13-foot crocodile, the oldest-known bat, and 356 fish. Become one of the team and join the Fossil Butte Quarry Program to help collect fossils for scientific research. The summers bring weekend guided hikes, and paleontology and geology programs. The expansive property includes 8,918 acres, so you can imagine the wildlife you might see. The cooler temperatures bring snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
