Wyoming is full of so many hidden gems. There are hundreds of historic buildings that date back to the earliest days of the state, back when trappers ran trading posts and outlaws hung out in local saloons. Some of these buildings have been converted to completely new purposes. The old Farson Mercantile, which was once a general store and trading post, is now known for serving up the biggest and best ice cream cones you'll ever get to try.
The Farson Mercantile is located way out in Sweetwater County. The town of Farson is only home to about 300 people, and the Merc itself dates back to 1902.
The original Farson Mercantile burned down, but the town rallied and it was rebuilt in the 1930s. The building from the 1930s is the one still standing today!
Today, the store is a bit more than just a trading post. It serves up delicious food to travelers making their way through the county. Coney Dogs are a local favorite, too.
Stop in to get something delicious to eat for lunch or dinner, whether you're from the area or just passing through.
You'll need to save room for dessert, though -- a lot of room, in fact. The cones served up at Farson Mercantile are gigantic!
It doesn't matter if you order one scoop or five - you'll enjoy a delicious dessert that's larger than life.
Even the single scoops here are huge - so come on out and enjoy the biggest and best ice cream cones in the country, right here in a tiny Wyoming town.
The Farson Mercantile offers food, souvenirs, gifts, clothing, ice cream cones, and more. To see more of what they've got to show off, visit their website, here. It's worth the drive from just about anywhere!
