Travelling back in time may be impossible, but there are a few places in the state where you can have some old-fashioned fun – and Norman General Store is one of them. Modeled after general stores from the past and housed in a building from the 1800s, this charming store is sure to transport you to another era. Take a look:
Your journey to the past begins in the small town of Kewaunee, which is where Norman General Store is located.
Brimming with history, the building that houses the general store was built around 1885!
Though inspired by general stores of the past, Norman General Store is still fairly new – it was opened in June 2018.
Despite having been open less than two years, the store’s historical ambiance is undeniable.
And just like general stores of the past, Norman General Store is stocked with an incredible variety of merchandise.
The shelves are stocked with everything from antiques to locally made jams and jellies, maple syrups, spices, baking mixes, and soaps.
There are also lots of decorative items, such as light fixtures, birdhouses, vintage china, glassware, and linens.
No general store would be complete without fabric – and Norman General Store is no exception. Nothing to laugh at, the store carries over 200 bolts of fabric!
