So, we hear you have friends or family visiting Brew City. We're sure you'll take them to a festival or brewery or two, but where will you eat? Here are nine restaurants that are a mix of classic and unique spots to truly get a feel of all that Milwaukee dining has to offer, and will have them coming back soon for for another visit!
1. The Vanguard
The Vanguard is an awesome spot in Bay View that serves up the best brats in the world. Besides unique sausages, they have killer poutine, and their bar is prepared to pair every meal with the perfect brew!

2. La Casa De Alberto Mexican Food
This little spot might not look like much, but it's actually amazing. La Casa is the perfect place to take any outsider to show them what authentic Mexican food in Milwaukee is all about. The staff will also make any out of towner feel right at home!

3. Beans & Barley
Beans & Barley is the perfect spot to take friends and family from out of town! This hip but old fashioned restaurant isn't just a great place for food for everyone, they also have a unique grocery story attached that's fun to look through. Whether you're looking for a killer brunch, a great burrito or sandwich, or a relaxed setting for a beer, this east side spot has it all.

4. Blue's Egg
If you plan on going to Blue's Egg, make sure you're hungry! This breakfast and brunch restaurant serves up delicious food, but the portions are huge. Try the cheesy hashbrowns paired with a unique omelette and you're set. You may have to wait awhile for a table, as this 'tosa spot is usually busy, but they'll take your number and text when it's ready! This is a great excuse to take your guests on a stroll through the Wauwatosa village.

5. Mader's
Mader's is one Milwaukee German restaurant with a ton of history, as it's the oldest restaurant in the city. This is one place to truly have a feast, and celebrate the German heritage that made Milwaukee what it is today. Everyone must visit Mader's at least once!

6. Harbor House
If you're looking for a truly elegant seafood spot, with absolutely breathtaking views, Harbor House is the place to go. Your guests will be impressed with the freshness of the fish despite being in the Midwest, and everyone can chow down on a bucket of the best oysters in town.

7. Kopp's Frozen Custard
Kopp's is a staple in any true Milwaukeean’s diet, and there's a good reason for it. This restaurant serves up some of the best frozen custard, but their jumbo burgers make the meal. You haven't really experienced Milwaukee until you've had Kopp's.

8. Engine Company No. 3
This Walker's Point gem serves up some of the most unique brunch around! Their quality cuisine is inspired by Spanish cuisine, and you're sure to have something unique and mouth-watering every time. You know what makes them even cooler? They're located in a remodeled firehouse, which is the coolest. We recommend making reservations.

9. Beerline Cafe
Beerline is the best unique vegetarian spot for anyone—including our carnivore friends. This cafe on the edge of Brewers Hill and Riverwest is also a creperie! They serve up amazing breakfast all day, and their menu is huge and completely customizable!
