If you’re looking for a big dose of Christmas cheer, head to western Wisconsin. A magical Christmas village awaits, and you can visit it two ways: on foot or in your car. Either way, Sam’s Christmas Village & Light Tour is an experience that will take you back to the magic of your younger days – it’s one of the best family Christmas events in Wisconsin.
You’ll find Sam’s Christmas Village & Light Tour in the charming town of Somerset. It’s located in St. Croix County, along the Apple River.
Every Christmas, another village pops up here – it’s called Sam’s Christmas Village, but you could easily mistake this Wisconsin Christmas village for the North Pole.
The village has a sea of holiday lights – 10 million in all! If you’re up for a stroll, there’s a route that allows you to soak in the beauty at a leisurely pace on foot. On some “driving” nights, you can see the magic from your car and drive the route.
The village has much more than holiday lights. Santa makes nightly appearances and is happy to hear some gift requests. You may also spot his reindeer.
For a little more time with Santa, you can book a private s’mores cabin. Enjoy a tasty snack and a private visit with the man himself!
Adults will find plenty to do here, too. There’s a Christmas market, a bar & grill on site, and plenty of photo ops – don’t forget your camera!
The event is designed for families, so it’s great fun for all ages. Dogs and strollers are welcome. Learn more on Sam's Christmas Village & Light Tour's website. Wisconsin is really pulling out the stops on its light shows this year. Here are 11 light displays that are simply magical.
