If you make a visit to Wisconsin and don't eat ice cream, you should be charged with a crime. Seriously. It's America's freaking Dairyland! Here are some the best:
1. Kopps Frozen Custard. Where else can you can call a hotline to figure out the flavors ahead of time?
2. Leon's. They only serve four flavors--but honestly, when one of them is butter pecan, what else matters?
3. Wilson's. If the ice cream wasn't sweet enough, they put a jellybean at the bottom of the cone. AWESOME.
4. Zesty's. If you're brave, try the ice cream eating contest. But if you lose they take your picture and put it on the wall. My picture may or may not be up in their Allouez location.
5. Cedar Crest. The ice cream is great. And there's also a giant cow in the front lawn.
6. Babcock Hall Dairy Store. Who knew that some of the best ice cream in Wisconsin could be found on the campus of University of Wisconsin?
7. Knoke's. You can eat awesome ice cream and chocolate. At the same time.
8. At Purple Door, you can get a flight of ice cream.
9. Night Owl. Get delicious ice cream but if you want a meal, too, get an awesome sandwich, too!
10. Belt's. And they say everything is bigger in Texas. This is what a true large looks like. 'Murica.
11. Ferch's. Step back in time to the malt shop days. Has that classic old school feel.
12. Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream. Try the Zanzibar. DO IT. DO IT.
13. La Michocana. You are probably surprised that Wisconsin has a Mexican ice cream store. No matter what nationality, Wisconsin does ice cream the best.
Pretty much if the place sells ice cream, and it's in Wisconsin, it's going to be awesome. Go eat some ice cream!!!
