Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L. In August of 2024, America's Best Restaurants stopped by a local West Virginia eatery, wanting to spotlight an independently owned authentic Mexican restaurant by the name of Jalapeños. This, of course, put the restaurant on the map, but for those in the New Martinsville area, the acclaim was no surprise. For a decade, this delightful restaurant has been serving up sizzling dishes to locals and visitors alike, who would heartily agree that it's the "most authentic Mexican restaurant in the valley," as stated on its website. Stop by and you might just agree that it's among the best restaurants in West Virginia.
The restaurant was purchased in 2014 by Erick Hernandez, a man with no industry experience but a goal of bringing his customer service experience to the community over one of his great passions: delicious food. Hernandez had experience working for his father at an auto parts store in Guatemala, so people skills came naturally. His parents helped brainstorm the name of the restaurant, and nearly a decade later, the kitchen is a beloved part of the area.

Their chips are served hot and crunchy with a refreshing salsa, the perfect introduction to a delicious entree.
