Some experiences are just worth the extra adventures you'll have in getting there. The Kitchen Creek Bakery, an Amish-Mennonite establishment in Gap Creek is one those places that people schedule regular visits to in order to replenish their stockpiles of delicious baked goods.
The tiny little bakery is found in a small building big enough for a few people at a time... most of the facility is used for baking their flavorful creations.
Inside, you can actually watch the ladies at work... and sometimes may find yourself in a line of people waiting for their items to come out of the oven.
But the wait won't matter... there are plenty of things to keep you disctracted, including an appetite for all things baked that seems to increase exponentially with every passing minute.
From what's been called 'the best sourdough bread in the state' to cupcakes, donuts, pies, cookies, and more... you can bet you won't leave here without an armload of goodies to bring home.
Their homemade pies are all the rave...
... and if you have your heart set on one you should claim it for your own as soon as you see it, or it could be scooped up by someone else.
Careful though... the baked goods from here may spoil you for life. Absolutely everything here is made from scratch!
