Traditional street tacos are a gift from the heavens (and also Mexico). Fortunately, we have quite a few places to get them here in Washington -- and we all know that the best tacos come not from the high-end establishments, but from taco trucks and strip malls. Taco-Book in Everett is no exception. This place is a beloved local treasure, and if you have yet to experience it for yourself, save a page in your summer for a little taco trip.
Taco-Book is located at 1130 Broadway C in Everett, at the end of a little strip mall.
Like most of Washington's unassuming eateries, this is the beginning of a beautiful food story.
Rigoberto Bastida and his wife, Deisy Ramos, opened this little taco shop in the summer of 2016.
They named it Tacobook Taqueria, creating a logo that looked similar to Facebook's. It wasn't long before Facebook got word of this and sent them a letter from a lawyer (oops). Fortunately, with a little hyphen, Taco-Book was rebranded and all was well.
This is a family-owned and operated mom and pop taco shop, which makes it even more appealing.
Rigoberto works the counter while Deisy cooks using amily recipes that her mother and grandmother served in taco trucks. Their children help out by keeping the drinks stocked and tidying up after closing.
Needless to say, the street tacos here are as authentic as they get.
From pollo to asada and tongue and tripe, they're a carnivore's delight.
If you're stumped on what to get, try the Barbacoa tacos.
Word on the street is that they're the best in Washington, but that's something you'll have to decide for yourself.
Customers also love the tortas, burritos, sopas, and mulitas.
And you can wash everything down with a delicious Jarritos soda or Horchata.
Inside seating is limited, but available -- but most people get their taco feasts to-go.
Taco-Book thankfully survived the pandemic, but they can still use some love, so check them out the next time you're craving tasty tacos.
