With a year as strange as this one, mentioning taking a cruise on a pirate ship probably doesn't seem the least bit odd. But a company called Emerald City Pirates offer just that, taking Washingtonians on a pirate cruise through the Lake Washington Ship Canal to Lake Union. And instead of taking the year off due to current conditions, the team has found a way to keep everyone as safe as possible by offering some fantastic private charters.
Emerald City Pirates is a well-known company in Seattle, largely because their ship is rather obvious.
For years, they've been taking locals and tourists alike on the cruise of a lifetime.
The interactive pirate cruises typically run from April - October, taking both young pirates and adult pirates around the lake.
Daytime cruises are family-friendly, while night cruises are for the 21 and over crowd.
The pirate ship is called Queen Anne’s Revenge, a 50-foot structure that was custom built for the company in 2017.
She is inspected regularly, and all of her operators are Coast Guard licensed captains.
From the Family Treasure Cruises to the festive pirate weddings, this ship has seen a lot of good times.
And luckily, the ship started setting sail once again for the summer season, after a brief hiatus due to current conditions.
Unfortunately, group cruises are out of the question this year -- but Emerald City Pirates is still allowing you to get your own small group together for private charters.
While the company always offers private charters, right now you can get them for a reduced rate.
Want to sail the open seas (or the lake) this year?
The company is offering private charters for a reduced rate of $750 for a 1.5 hour cruise instead of the standard $950. Each additional half hour is $350.
Summer fun can still be had this year, especially if you're a fan of pirates. Learn more about booking your own private cruise here.
