Sprinker Recreation Center is a year-round facility that Pierce County locals love. From outdoor fun like tennis and basketball to the indoor ice skating and hockey rink, you'll be able to indulge in all kinds of sporty pursuits. A few years ago, this marvelous place became one of only a handful of locations nationwide to offer bumper cars on ice in-house. This winter, add these ice bumper cars in Parkland, Washington to your must-do list!
Sprinker Recreation Center is a massive complex you'll find on C Street South in Tacoma near Spanaway.
It's a great place to take your little athletes (or treat yourself to some nostalgic fun) in any season.
The ice rink is one of the most popular attractions here, serving as a spot for both skating and hockey.
And in winter, the rink lights up in some extra magical ways that are fitting for the season!
But now, there's a whole new (amazing) way to slide across the ice: bumper cars on ice!
These colorful, rolling cars are available all winter long at Sprinker, offering fun for all ages. It's the most fun you didn't know you could have in slow motion!
For safety and operational purposes, height and combined weight limits to apply.
Ice bumper car sessions are 15 minutes long, and you'll have plenty of options for making the most fun out of your time.
You can simply roll around the ice using the two joysticks on either side, you can competitively bump into each other, or you can add a ball and some hockey nets and host a giant soccer game on ice!
Sessions can be reserved up to two weeks in advance, and reservations are recommended.
Normal ice bumper car sessions are held on weekends. Or, you can choose to purchase a bump/skate combo if you'd like to go ice staking as well.
You can also book a birthday party or other group outing here and enjoy the bumper cars on ice with your friends. This is an epic way to celebrate special events!
And when the white lights turn down and the colors are cranked up... you'll have even more fun sneaking up on your fellow ice bumpers.
Sprinker's ice bumper cars have been described as figure skating and a demolition derby all in one. But no matter how you'd classify this activity, it's an absolute blast.
No long lines at the carnival needed. Just bundle up and enjoy!
Doesn't this sound fun?! When cabin fever starts to creep in, this is the perfect way to get the whole family out and about, without slapping on snowpants and boots. If you're ready to try them out for yourself, you can book a session at the Pierce County website.
