Being a boat owner is amazing... but it's definitely not for everyone. Luckily, for those who want the experience without the commitment or the investment, there are plenty of great boat rental companies in Washington ready to get you out on the water. These are just a few of our favorites.
1. San Juan Sailing and Yachting, 2615 S Harbor Loop Dr, Ste 1, Bellingham
San Juan Sailing and Yachting is a great company to use if you'd rather leave the actual sailing to someone else. They offer chartered sailing and yachting cruises around some of the most beautiful territory on Earth. The company is rated #1 in the world by the readers of Cruising World, so they must be doing something right.
2. Seattle Boat Share, 1109 N. Northlake Way
Seattle Boat Share is a unique company - you own the experience, but not the boat. You select your membership, get a Sharepass, fill out some paperwork, browse the fleet, and make your reservation accordingly. Going this route isn't cheap, but it's a lot more affordable than actual boat ownership... plus, you can change boats based on the experience you want.
3. Ocean Shores Electric Boats, 952 Point Brown Ave. SE, Ocean Shores
This is the best possible way to see Ocean Shores' hidden gem, the interconnected freshwater lakes and canals. You can book a guided tour or be your own captain on a 21-foot Duffy Cruiser.
4. Deep Sea Charters, 2319 Westhaven Dr., Westport
Deep Sea Charters has been offering high quality chartered fishing trips for 66 years. If you love to fish but don't own a boat, they'll provide everything you need (except for fishing snacks).

5. Hot Tub Boats, 1200 Westlake Ave. N., Seattle
Imagine floating around Lake Union in a hot tub boat. Thanks to the invention of a few geniuses, you can. Hot tub boats are available every day of the week. The cost is $350 for a two hour ride (each additional hour is $100), but this seems like something you really can't put a price on.
6. Lake Escapes Boat Rentals, 16003 N. Suncrest Dr., Nine Mile Falls
Not only does Lake Escapes offer a great selection of boats and other water toys, like Jet Skis and paddleboards, but they'll also deliver your rental to your lake of choice. It doesn't get better than that.
7. Lake Roosevelt Vacations, W 4105 William St., Kettle Falls
For an "extreme boat rental" experience, go all in with a houseboat. Lake Roosevelt Houseboat Vacations offers 62-foot SuperCruisers that sleep up to 13 people and are equipped with all the comforts of home. Some of them even have hot tubs.
The next time you're feeling adventurous, look into renting a boat for the day. Or you can head to one of these other places to go in Washington when you feel adventurous.
