Chili is a delicious, heart-warming meal. But did you realize there was an entire festival dedicated to this iconic soup? Each September, Waynesboro celebrates chili (along with live music in beer) in the most unforgettable way. So bring your dancing shoes, your friends and family, and, of course, your appetite; you won't want to miss this annual chili festival in Virginia! This year's event is scheduled for September 16th, 2023.
This September, you'll want to make a bee-line for Lumos Plaza in downtown Waynesboro, Virginia for a festival of epic proportions.
This year marks the 13th anniversary of this beloved food event, which is a celebration of food, music, and friends.
Of course, the event is also marked by fierce competition. Several vendors will be competing for the title of the best chili in the region. Who will win this year?
Categories include the People's Choice Award, Best "Spicy Spirit," and most "Eco Friendly." Winners in each of these categories will win a cash prize!
But food is just part of what makes this festival so special. The live performances are equally as exciting, with an emphasis on blues music.
And those of age will also be able to partake in some delicious local craft beer, which just so happens to pair perfectly with any kind of homemade chili.
So what are you waiting for? Mark your calendar and don't forget to get your tickets ahead of time!
