Small towns in Virginia are famous for their quaint downtowns, beautiful scenery, and kind locals. Yet when it comes to dining in Virginia, small towns tend to fly under the radar. But we're here to change that reputation by introducing you to one of our favorite little-known spots: the Palisades. Located in Eggleston, this small-town restaurant in Virginia is housed inside a former general store, offering diners a blend of the old and new. Here's more on why this restaurant belongs on your dining bucket list.
Welcome to the Palisades Restaurant! A former general store located in the heart of Eggleston, this building was once the hub of Giles County.
Folks were drawn to this corner of Virginia due to its natural beauty and the presence of hot springs. In fact, the town was once called Gunpowder Springs because of the smell from the sulphur.
Step inside the restaurant today, and you'll notice some architectural details that point to the buildings history, such as the tin ceiling and the exposed brick walls. When it comes to atmosphere, this restaurant does not disappoint!
And neither does the menu. The kitchen serves up a variety of seasonal and regional fare, with specials changing daily.
Some of the must-try items include baked trout, grits, and the ribeye.
The restaurant also makes out-of-this-world pizzas in its brick oven.
While pizza may seem like a casual choice for such a unique restaurant, reviewers guarantee that you won't be disappointed!
And don't forget to polish off your meal with something sweet from the dessert menu. You really can't go wrong with any of these decadent options!
So the next time you're looking for a remarkable dining experience that's a bitt off-the-radar, you'll be so glad you visited the Palisades Restaurant.
