Try out the James River Trail in Gladstone, Virginia. Tucked along the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this easy trail runs aside three miles of the James River.
The James River Trail is a part of James River State Park in Gladstone.
You'll access the trail through the James River State Park entrance at 104 Green Hill Drive, Gladstone, VA. Once inside the park, you'll be able to follow signs to the parking lot and trailhead.
This 3.1-mile trail is well-marked and maintained.
The River Trail is multi-use, so you can hike or ride your bike. Leashed dogs are welcome, and the trail is open every day from dawn until dusk. There is a small fee for parking.
Stop and take a rest while you enjoy the river views.
This trail is perfect for a quiet stroll, and the entire trail follows the path of the James River. It is open year-round, and there is never a shortage of spectacular river views.
