Campground resorts certainly have their appeal. These massive sites have enough room for everyone, and acquiring a reservation isn't too difficult. But sometimes, if you're looking for a secluded adventure, there's nothing like discovering an off-the-beaten-path campsite that offers nothing but serenity and seclusion. That's definitely the case with Crabtree Falls Campground. Located near one of Virginia's most incredible natural wonders, this campground features just 30 traditional sites as well as a handful of private cabins and RV spaces. Needless to say, it's perfect for your next great camping adventure in Virginia!
Welcome to Crabtree Falls Campground! Tucked away in the George Washington National Forest near the iconic Crabtree Falls, this campground is described as a little slice of Heaven.
Traditional tent sites allow campers the option to camp right on the river. There are 30 tent sites in total, and 13 of them sit right on the riverbank.
Can't you just imagine falling asleep to the sound of the rushing river just a few feet away?
In addition to tent sites, the campground also offers Pop-Up/RV sites that provide optional water and electric hookups.
For another unique experience, you can rent a rustic cabin on the water.
There are four to choose from, and campers should note that they do not have A/C, but screen windows to allow the cool breeze in during the evenings. The cabins also do not have running water.
And the best news of all? Your four-legged friend can go camping with you!
However, there are a few important guidelines to check out before bringing your pet along for the adventure.
