3. Outlook Beach

Outlook Beach in Hampton might just be one of the area's best-kept secrets. It's located at Fort Monroe and features an expansive beach with lots of room to wander. During the summer months, there are typically lifeguards on duty. Visitors should note that dogs are not allowed on this beach from May 15th through September 15th. 4. Yorktown Beach

This white, sandy beach features brackish water (part salt, part fresh water). The waters of the York River and peaceful and calm, making swimming a relaxing and safe activity for the little ones. Not far from the beach, you'll find an ice cream shop as well as a few cafes to enjoy a quick bite.
