You might not even notice this little park tucked away on the corner of North Temple and State Street in downtown Salt Lake City, but it's a pretty little spot that's perfect for a quick stroll or a few quiet moments.
The park is part of what was once the estate of Brigham Young, the leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who brought the Mormon pioneers here in 1847.
The sculptures throughout this little oasis reflect the kinds of activities that once took place here, such as playing and gardening. There's even a real garden with irrigation running through it.
You won't find any playground equipment at this park - it's simply a small, green space that's meant for people to enjoy. While it's owned by the LDS Church, it's open to the public.

Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L. Why I Love It: Fact: Airplanes are notoriously dry, dry, dry. No matter how much water I drink both before and during the flight, I always find myself in a hydration deficit for days. St. George is home to some of my favorite city parks in Utah. This southern Utah paradise is where you can find the incredible Thunder Junction All Abilities Park and Pioneer Park. It is also where you can find Cottonwood Cove, one of the best family-friendly summer day trip destinations. This park has something for everyone from the ultimate playground to a walking path, climbing wall, swinging benches, and so much more. It’s the type of place that everyone will squeal for joy to visit.

Cottonwood Cove Park is a local favorite in St. George. This beautiful community park is 24.8 acres and is located at 1027 South Dixie Drive.
And the playground at Cottonwood Cove Park is the perfect place for running and playing. This large playground has activities for all ages and even better, a large portion is shaded, protecting your young ones from the hot southern Utah sun.
And despite being in the city, this park has elements of nature running through. It’s truly a little escape on a summer day.
