Tropic is one small town, located just outside of Bryce Canyon National Park, that is beautiful in every way. Tropic is located in Garfield County, just outside of Bryce Canyon National Park. You will find it along Utah Scenic Byway 12 and fewer than 600 people call this town home.
When first arriving in Tropic, you’ll be amazed at the incredible views. This town is nestled in the red cliffs of Bryce Canyon National Park.
While there are many things to do in Tropic, its close proximity to so many national and state parks is what draws in its many visitors.
Not only is this town right outside of Bryce Canyon, but it is just a short drive from Escalante Petrified Forest State Park, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Kodachrome Basin State Park, and several others.
During your stay, you can also just drive on Scenic Byway 12 to enjoy some of the most breathtaking southern Utah views.
While in town, you can visit the Tropic Town Heritage Center, which is a small museum that teaches you all about the early days of Tropic and the Paria River Valley.
Of course, when you get hungry and want something tasty to eat, you must stop at IDK Barbecue.
