1. At Random — Milwaukee
This first spot is adults-only. This old-school bar feels like a step back in time inside in the best possible way and they serve the most amazing boozy milkshakes you can imagine. It's kitschy and fabulous and oh-so-delicious.

2. Kopps Custard — Milwaukee
Kopps is a southeast Wisconsin icon for a reason. Most folks only head here for their favorite flavor of the day, but on days those flavors don't float your boat, switch over to the fountain menu for amazingly flavorful and thick shakes and malts.

3. LeDuc's Frozen Custard — Wales
This small-town gem has been serving the sweet tooth of folks in this area for nearly 40 years. Nab a shake for immediate gratification and then take home one of their frozen custard pies to enjoy later on.

4. The Kiltie Drive-In — Oconomowoc
Folks in Lake Country know summer is officially here when The Kiltie opens up for the season. Old school food and fun, a shake is a perfect compliment to the burgers here.

5. Frostie Freeze — Fort Atkinson
Customers say these are the best malts and shakes they've ever had. Folks line up here on hot days but the wait is so worth it.

6. Mickie's Dairy Bar — Madison
You might think shakes aren't breakfast food, but you'd be wrong. This Madison institution serves up hearty breakfasts bigger than your head and the shakes and malts come out in the big silver mixing cup that you serve yourself in small doses. It's creamy and ice cold and the perfect way to start a day.

7. Babcock Hall Dairy — Madison
There are few universities with the on-site dairy capabilities of Wisconsin and Babcock Hall ice cream is one of the best treats about being at Madison. Lots of people default to scoops of ice cream, but this super-fresh stuff makes some of the best shakes you've ever imagined.

8. DLUX — Madison
This place isn't on a lot of people's dessert radars, but it should be. You'll get an amazing meal here and it's totally topped off with decadent, delicious shakes.

9. Monty's Blue Plate Diner — Madison
Monty's loves to go all out on pretty much everything and their shakes are no exception. Whether it's the gooey perfection of the Fat Elvis or the neon appeal of the Blue Moon, you will not be disappointed with a milkshake from Monty's.
