8. We're in touch with our food.
Foraging for wild foods, gardening, farmers markets, and hunting are all West Virginia traditions. Other places get most of their food from supermarkets, but we have so many opportunities to go right to the source.
9. It really is the Wild and Wonderful state.
You don't have to go far to connect with nature. It's always just a short drive to a state park, waterfall, cave, or forest.
10. The stars just don't shine as brightly anywhere else.
West Virginia has some of the darkest skies in the country. Whenever you leave here, you'll find yourself missing West Virginia's sparkling stars.
