Berkeley Springs is a town in Morgan County, West Virginia, in the Eastern Panhandle. This charming town in West Virginia has a population of under 1,000, but it draws many more than that in visitors each year due to its charming beauty. It is one of the best small towns in West Virginia.
The most beloved part of the town may just be Berkeley Springs State Park.
Streams of warm water flow through the park, originating from a fresh underground spring.
The spring-fed streams were historically known for their healing mineral waters. George Washington even paid a visit to this WV town to bathe here.
As a visitor, you can splash in the streams throughout the park, or pay a visit to the bathhouses where the water is even warmer.
The water in the park is naturally about 74 degrees, and the water in the bathhouses is heated to about 100 degrees, for even further relaxation. This is truly one of the most awesome things to do in West Virginia.
You can explore more whimsical beauty around Berkeley Springs at the Artists of Merrywoods gallery.
The gallery is surrounded by outdoor sculpture gardens.
