Fall is here and you'll probably take at least one scenic drive to do a little leaf-peeping in West Virginia. 1. Indian Creek Covered Bridge
Located on the rural roads of Monroe County, Indian Creek Bridge was built in 1903. With no distractions of traffic lights anywhere nearby, this quaint bridge is a landmark of the rolling countryside. Get out and stretch your legs and take a walk across this pedestrian bridge to appreciate its full beauty.

2. Fish Creek Covered Bridge
If you're on the hunt for "covered bridges near me," try and seek out this one. Built in 1881, Fish Creek Covered Bridge is the last remaining covered bridge in Wetzel County. It's only 36 feet long but still is a quaint little bridge to drive across.
3. Philippi Covered Bridge
The oldest and longest covered bridge in West Virginia is quite a sight to see. Constructed in 1852, the Philippi Covered Bridge is the site of the first land battle of the Civil War. Completely restored, this water crossing is picture-perfect in the fall. It's certainly one of the most stunning WV covered bridges.

4. Locust Creek Covered Bridge
The primitive beauty of the Locust Creek Covered Bridge is striking year-round. The bridge is the most remote of the existing covered bridges in WV but well worth the drive to take a walk across.
5. Herns Mill Covered Bridge
The Herns Mill Covered Bridge is a 53.75-foot-long span that crosses Milligan Creek in Greenbrier County. The surrounding foliage provides a vibrant backdrop for the historic structure built in 1884.

6. Simpson Creek Covered Bridge
You'll find Simpson Creek Covered Bridge in an idyllic park setting where it was relocated in 1899 after a flood. Originally built in 1881, it once carried vehicle traffic but now is only open to pedestrians.
7. Dents Run Covered Bridge
Located near Laurel Point, Dents Run Covered Bridge has plenty of trees nearby just waiting to pop with autumn color. The 40-foot-long bridge was built in 1889 and completely restored in 1984. It's one of the most charming covered bridges in West Virginia.
