The Olympic Peninsula is one of Washington's greatest treasures. It's a paradise for nature lovers, but it also happens to be very family-friendly... especially the Sequim area. Surrounded by natural beauty and full of small town charm, Sequim is perpetually sunny, artsy, and vibrant.
If you're heading toward Sequim with your family in the summer, the top two spots to take them are the Olympic Game Farm and Purple Haze Lavender Farm. This guarantees a day that is equal parts exciting and relaxing.
Olympic Game Farm is located at 1423 Ward Road, just outside of downtown Sequim.
This is a drive-through experience that allows you to see wildlife in a safe, exciting way.
Driving tours are available seven days a week, and tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
For just $20 per person ($15 for children) you can embark on a self-guided driving tour through this sanctuary.
Most of the animals here are already found in the Pacific Northwest, although there are some exceptions.
You can expect to see deer, elk, domestic horses, kodiak bears, llamas, and even zebras.
You can purchase bread for the animals on-site and feed it to them as they approach your car.
This is such a fantastic way for your family to see local (and exotic) wildlife.
Once your family has thoroughly enjoyed the Olympic Game Farm, head to one of Sequim's local lavender farms.
We highly recommend Purple Haze, one of the oldest and most beloved lavender farms in the Dungeness Valley.
From Memorial Day until Labor Day, you're free not only to roam the beautiful farm, but to buy lavender goodies from the on-site gift shop.
After your little ones have stretched their legs, they can enjoy treats like lavender lemonade and lavender ice cream from Bell Bottom Beverages stand. Admission is only $5, and you can stay as long as you'd like.
If you had a day to explore Sequim, what would you add to the list after these two attractions?
