Located in the historic port city of Aberdeen, the Grays Harbor Historical Seaport is an educational non-profit organization created in 1986. It's also where you'll typically find Lady Washington, the official ship of our state. And during certain times of the year, you can climb aboard and see her for yourself.
Lady Washington first launched on on March 7, 1989.
The new Lady Washington is a full-scale replica of the original, which was constructed in 1787. The following year, she became the first American vessel to make landfall on the west coast of North America.
If you think this ship looks familiar, you might be right.
Over the years, Lady Washington has appeared in several films and television shows, such as Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and Once Upon A Time.
The Lady Washington was launched as part of the 1989 Washington State Centennial celebration.
As a U.S. Coast Guard inspected and certified passenger sailing vessel, it's always ready for smooth sailing.
The Lady Washington Sailing Schedule runs through mid-October, departing from several Washington ports.
You can schedule a sailing adventure online, which vary in length and cost. For example, a two hour Tacoma Evening Sail costs $69 for adults.
You can even get married on the ship or rent it out for a private party.
Having a pirate themed wedding is not required, but obviously, we highly recommend it.
Climb aboard the official ship of Washington before sailing season is over.
There's really no better way to explore Washington's waters.
Address: 500 North Custer Street, Aberdeen, WA, 98520
Doesn't this look like a blast? You can see the full sailing schedule and buy tickets for your Lady Washington adventure here. And while none of these boats hold the title of the official ship of Washington, they're still pretty great.
