When it comes to Washington's Christmas towns, Leavenworth definitely steals the spotlight and we're fine with that — it leaves plenty of quieter small towns we can explore all winter without battling any crowds. And if you've never been to Snoqualmie during the winter months, you're really missing out. It may be small in size but it's big on holiday spirit.
Snoqualmie is located in King County next to the iconic Snoqualmie Falls.
While it's only 28 miles from Seattle, you'll feel like you're in a different (and much quieter) world here.
Other than the beautiful waterfall, this city of 13,752 is best known for the Northwest Railway Museum.
The Santa Train is a delight to children statewide. But even long after Santa has returned to the North Pole, this place is delightful to visit — especially after it snows.
Snoqualmie hosts all kinds of winter and holiday events to make your spirits bright.
From caroling to holiday shopping pop-ups and Santa-themed train rides, it's safe to say this small city is big on celebrating.
Most of the businesses in town go all out for the holidays, with many leaving their lights up for a while after Christmas.
And once you've checked everyone off your list, you deserve to shop for yourself.
But it's not just Snoqualmie that brings the holiday cheer! The historic Shell station in Issaquah is one of the most photographed spots in the area.
And if this charming spot makes you happy, you won't want to miss the Snoqualmie Winter Lights Trail, which takes you to dazzling light displays all over town.
And last but certainly not least, Snoqualmie Falls is especially enchanting in the winter.
The waterfall and rocky cliffs look straight out of a movie set.
Escape to Snoqualmie this winter and enjoy all the twinkling lights and seasonal decor with none of the crowds. Tempting, isn't it?
