That means you'll have time for at least one more weekend getaway before the weather becomes unpredictable, so head to one of these tried-and-true destinations to beat cabin fever before it starts.

1. Port Townsend

This cool coastal city is beautiful in any season. In fact, fall and winter bring a quiet beauty and mild temperatures you'll find refreshing.

You could have a nice, fulfilling weekend just strolling the streets of Port Townsend and checking out the shops and restaurants.

But if you're in the area, you should definitely check out Fort Worden State Park.

2. The San Juan Islands

When summer fades and the tourist season slows, the San Juan Islands quiet down. And this is when Washingtonians love to visit most.
