Washington is an incredible state. Whether you prefer a bustling city or a small town, a mountain hike or a beach walk, or a relaxing weekend spent by the lake, you'll find it in the Evergreen State. And while it's frustrating not to be able to enjoy our home to the fullest right now, our favorite attractions and natural wonders will always be waiting for us. Here are nine of the many, many spots that make us proud to call Washington home.
1. Snoqualmie Falls
Snoqualmie Falls is conveniently located -- you can practically see the entire waterfall from the side of the road. Did you know it's a full 100 feet taller than Niagara Falls?
2. Mount Rainier National Park
Mount Rainier is a Washington State icon, and we're incredibly lucky to be able to catch views of it from most parts of Western Washington. However, nothing compares to exploring Mount Rainier National Park on a warm summer day.
3. The Columbia River Gorge
The Columbia River Gorge is the crown jewel of the Pacific Northwest. We share this area with Oregon, but there's plenty to see on the Washington side -- waterfalls, forested hikes, state parks, breweries, wineries, and more.
4. The Olympic Peninsula
If you've never explored the Olympic Peninsula, you're really missing out on one of the most incredible parts of our state (or the country). From its temperate rainforest to its mystical beaches, it's an absolute treasure.
5. Lake Chelan
If you grew up in Washington, you probably have fond memories of at least one Lake Chelan vacation. Washington's clearest lake will always be waiting for you to make more memories.
6. Palouse Falls
Palouse Falls is Washington's official state waterfall. And this gorgeous state park will take your breath away.
7. The Long Beach Peninsula
If you were hoping to pay a visit to Long Beach this year, you may have had to postpone it. But don't worry -- this beautiful beach isn't going anywhere (thank goodness).
8. The San Juan Islands
You might catch a glimpse of some orcas on your way out to the islands, and you might not. But you're guaranteed to see some of the most stunning rural beauty of your life.
9. North Cascades National Park
Washington is so full of natural wonders, it's easy to overlook this enormous national park way up north. But we highly recommend you don't.
