6. Cabot Cheese Factory, Cabot

The plant may look small, but they process a million pounds of milk a day! Only $3 for this informative tour as you learn how the cheeses are made, as well as free samples of dozens of their incredible products.

7. Vermont Teddy Bear, Shelburne

On this tour of the Vermont Teddy Bear factory, learn about what makes these bears unique including the "born in Vermont" lettering on the eyes, the special tag on the bottom, and the movable joints. Fun for everyone!

8. Harpoon Brewery, Windsor

Tour the Harpoon Brewery every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Windsor. If you like beer and/or are interested in the process, this tour has been deemed by many as one of the best.

Call ahead to get a tour with Sandy, the owner of this delightful Alpaca Farm. Sandy is great person, funny, chatty, very knowledgeable about alpacas and has lots of stories to tell. How many people can say they've pet an alpaca? Delightful!

16. Hyde Log Cabin, Grand Isle

Built in 1793, the Hyde Log Cabin is Vermont's oldest log cabin and was built by Jedediah Hyde, Jr. Today, the Grand Isle County Historical Society has furnished the cabin and uses it as a meeting place, a museum, and a local information center. It is open from July 4 through mid-October on Saturdays and Sundays. A great peek into Vermont life and history!
