Looking for a road trip in Vermont that you can do on less than one tank of gas? Well, here is a great one that takes you to sights, shops, eateries and even a quick hike - all in a 214 mile trip. If you are looking to check out VT in the winter without hitting the ski resorts, these places are sure to please everyone.

This trip takes 5 hours and 17 minutes to complete and is a doable 214 miles.
1. Take the road less traveled on the Robert Frost Trail in Ripton.
Take this one mile path and enjoy Robert Frost's inspiring poetry along the way.
2. Treat your sweet tooth at Middlebury Sweets in Middlebury.
Stock up with some sugary treats for your road trip at Middlebury Sweets, Vermont's largest candy shop. While in Middlebury, try to spot Robert Indiana's Love sculpture on the college campus!
3. Walk the lovely Church Street in Downtown Burlington.
Take a stroll through the cobblestone street decorated with holiday lights while you do some shopping in these one of a kind specialty shops.
4. Visit the town of Stowe.
Whether you stay in the quaint village, visit the resort or take a trip to the Trapp Family Lodge, Stowe is a wonderful place to experience Vermont charm and hospitality.
5. Enjoy lunch at the Prohibition Pig.
For a tasty and filling meal, stop into the Prohibition Pig for a burger and a VT craft brew. For dessert, go to the Cold Hollow Cider Mill for a hot cider donut or an ice cream at the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory, both of which are just down the street.
