There are beautiful sights to see wherever you are in Vermont and the best part is that around every turn is a new place to admire. We can talk about the beauty of Vermont until we're blue in the face, but unless you see the breathtaking sights for yourself it's hard to believe this state is for real. 1. The covered bridges in Hartland.
The original Willard Covered Bridge was built in 1870, and in 2001 when the nearby concrete bridge had to be replaced they chose to build a twin. The new bridge was built with the same design and the only easily noticeable difference is the darker weathering of the older twin.
2. Red barns against a blue sky.
The colors and shapes of the barns like this one in Stowe will always make you slow down and look twice.
3. Lake Willoughby.
The mountains around Lake Willoughby make this view one of the most photographed in Vermont.
4. The rolling mountains.
We may be called the Green Mountain State, but during foliage Vermont takes on entirely new colors.
5. The State Parks of Vermont.
Mountains, fields beaches and more - the state parks throughout Vermont are just as beautiful as this, the Waterbury Center State Park.
6. Lake Whitingham, Wilmington.
Sunset or sunrise, winter spring, summer or fall, Lake Whitingham is a spectacular sight.
7. Swimming holes in Warren.
From waterfalls to swimming holes, the Mad River Valley has plenty of natural wonders.
8. Lee Farm in Woodstock.
This farm is one of many picture perfect sights in Woodstock.
9. The architecture in Middlebury.
The stately homes and interesting features makes driving around this charming town absolutely delightful.
10. Montshire Museum in Norwich.
This gorgeous and informative museum has both indoor and outdoor exhibits to check out.
11. Kettle Pond in Groton State Forest.
Perhaps the only thing more beautiful than seeing Kettle Pond up close is this view from above at the Owl's Head Lookout.
12. Burton Island.
One visit to any of the Champlain Islands and you'll fall madly in love.
13. Moss Glen Falls in Granville.
One of the best parts about this particular waterfall is that it is viewable from the road, which makes it accessible for everyone to enjoy.
14. Shelburne Museum, Shelburne.
Wander around the grounds where there is something for everyone and take in one of the best collections of art, design and Americana in the country.
15. Quechee Gorge.
Also known as Vermont's Little Grand Canyon, the Quechee Gorge is just as beautiful from above as it is from below.
16. Old Round Church in Richmond.
Built in 1813, the Old Round Church is a rare and well-preserved example of a sixteen-sided meeting house.
