Hanksville, Utah is one small town that leads to big adventures. This town, with a population of just under 200 people, sits near the junction of State Route 24 and 95, making it the gateway to many incredible places to visit like Capitol Reef National Park, Goblin Valley State Park, and more. And while you may find yourself simply driving through this tiny town in Utah, I have the best reason to stop and enjoy — Stan’s Burger Shak, home to some of the best burgers in Utah.
Stan’s Burger Shak doesn’t look like much on the outside. In fact, you may simply pass it by as this restaurant sits next to an unassuming gas station. But, once you know it is there, you’ll be forever grateful you discovered it.
Stan’s Burger Shak is a family-owned restaurant that has been serving the residents of Hanksville and visitors in the area for nearly 40 years. In fact, it has become a must-visit stop for many travelers in this part of the state.
Just as the name suggests, Stan’s Burger Shak serves incredible — burgers! The menu is packed with a variety of burger options from a Hanksburger to a double cheeseburger.
I recommend you try a Hanksburger during your visit. This is a quarter-pound burger with lettuce, tomato, and burger sauce. But you can always try something different as well like a buffalo burger, turkey burger, or even just a grilled ham and cheese sandwich.
It doesn’t really matter what you order, don't forget to pair it with a tasty side. There are more than half a dozen options ranging from French fries and Cajun fries to English chips and jalapeno poppers.
And to complete your meal, order a milkshake. The shakes at this burger joint in Utah are tall, thick, and absolutely delicious.
Come hungry when you visit Stan’s Burger Shak. You’ll leave with a smile on your face and fuel for your upcoming adventures.
