There is nothing better than a delightful multi-day trip around Utah. The Beehive State is home to countless attractions, delicious places to eat, cozy accommodations, natural wonders, and even hidden gems, and a road trip is a perfect way to experience it all. We've put together a multi-day road trip that will help you visit some of the best parks and pizzerias all throughout the state. This is one road trip that is not only beautiful and fun-filled but also super tasty.
On this road trip in Utah, you will travel approximately 420 miles from Logan to Zion National Park. We recommend you break this trip into multiple days so you can spend time at each and every stop along the route. But, don't worry, we've found some excellent places to stay along the way like conveniently-located Best Western Hotels in Utah. Also, don't be afraid to add some of your favorite parks and pizza joints on this road trip. You can use this interactive map to help you customize your adventure.
1. Willow Park, Logan
The first stop on our road trip is the beloved Willow Park. This large park not only offers lots of green grass to lie on, picnic areas, and more, but it is also home to Zootah, formerly known as the Willow Park Zoo. Here, you will find seven acres of beautiful pathways and many native and exotic Utah animals for you to observe.
Factory Pizzeria, Logan
Not only is Willow Park well-known and loved in Cache Valley, but so is the Factory Pizzeria. This popular no-fuss pizza joint has been serving some of the best pizza in Logan for more than 30 years. This restaurant specializes in Sicilian-style pizza where the dough is typically quite soft and thick. Make sure you save room for the desserts — the cookies and ice cream are a must-try!
3. Fort Buenaventura Park, Ogden
Whether you tackle this road trip with your entire family or even just a few friends, Fort Buenaventura Park may become one of your favorite stops. This 26-acre park features activities that will keep you busy all day long. You can play on the 18-hole disc golf course, stop by the small pond and go fishing, or even visit the historic fort, which was built in 1846.
4. Taboo Pizza, Ogden
Get ready for a good time when you stop at Taboo Pizza. This fun and lively pizza joint in Ogden is where you will find quite the selection of specialty pizzas — each with the most unique and random names. In addition to tasty pizza, you can try one of the mouthwatering pasta dishes or a dough boi, which is delicious dough stuffed with a variety of toppings.

5. Layton Commons Park, Layton
Layton Commons Park is a large park that is perfect for a quiet and relaxing afternoon. This 47-acre park features many of the amenities you will find at your typical park including multiple baseball fields, picnic shelters, and playgrounds. Make sure to spend some time at the charming duck pond and admire the wildlife that often roam around this park during your visit.
6. The Pizza Place, Layton
The Pizza Place in Layton certainly doesn’t look like much on the outside but after just one or two bites of your pizza slice, you’ll know why this restaurant has been in business for more than 30 years. Here, you’ll find New York-style pizza that is hand-tossed and topped with the freshest ingredients. Don’t forget to place an order of Bread Stix, Cheese Stix, or Cinnamon Stix — or maybe all three!
7. Sugar House Park, Sugar House
Sugar House Park is one of the most popular parks in the Salt Lake Valley and one that you will not want to miss. This 110-acre park is located right in the heart of Sugar House and at the site of the Old State Prison. While Sugar House Park is known for its large grassy areas and beautiful pond, you’ll also find a 1.4-mile park road with a wide inside lane for runners, cyclists, and even cross-country skiers. This park is a favorite among locals as there are numerous soccer and baseball fields, playgrounds, volleyball courts, pavilions, and more.
8. The Pie: Salt Lake City
When searching for the best pizza in Salt Lake City, there is only one place to go — The Pie. This award-winning pizza place has multiple locations in the Salt Lake area and it’s no surprise why. The dough is homemade and proofed for up to 24 hours. The whole milk mozzarella cheese is hand-shredded and all of the meats and vegetables are sliced fresh each morning. Plus, the specialty pizzas at this restaurant in Utah are unique and extremely tasty.

9. Wheeler Historic Farm Park, Murray
Of course, you can’t have a road trip to the best parks in northern Utah without a stop at Wheeler Historic Farm Park. This 73-acre family-friendly park is much more than your average Salt Lake County Park. While you will find pavilions, playgrounds, etc., this is also a working historic farm with barn animals and a 40-acre forest in the middle of the city — it’s the perfect stop for an afternoon or an entire day!
10. Oak Wood Fire Kitchen, Draper
Our road trip continues at Oak Wood Fire Kitchen in Draper. This restaurant features a chef-crafted menu with a focus on locally-sourced ingredients. The pizzas are also wood-fire baked, giving them a flavor that is difficult to beat. If you find that you just aren’t craving a slice of pizza by this stop on your trip, try one of the sandwiches or even just stop for a glass of wine, cocktail, or beer.

11. Paul Ream Wilderness Park, Provo
Paul Ream Wilderness Park is a seven-acre park next to the Provo River and the Provo River Parkway Trail. This is a delightful place to stop and stretch your legs, observe some wildlife, and just enjoy a little fresh air. You’ll also find all sorts of amenities like a gazebo, duck pond, playground, walking trail, and more.
12. Frontier Homestead State Park, Cedar City
After a bit of a drive, our next stop on this parks and pizza road trip in Utah is at the lesser-known Frontier Homestead State Park. Located right on Main Street in Cedar City, this state park museum gives you a look into the surrounding area decades ago. You will learn all about life in Iron County in the late 1800s and early 1900s and will see unique artifacts, participate in hands-on exhibits, and more. It's one stop that the entire family will enjoy.
After a long drive and a full day at this state park, consider spending the night at Best Western Plus Cedar City.
13. Zion National Park
The last stop on our road trip is the majestic and beautiful Zion National Park. There is a reason this is known as one of the most beautiful national parks in the entire world. Here, you will find some of the most stunning overlooks, unforgettable hikes, and impressive stargazing opportunities. You won't want to spend just one day at this park and we highly recommend you plan multiple days exploring all that one of the best parks in Utah has to offer.
Fortunately, you'll find several properties in Southern Utah — and within a short drive from Zion National Park — where you can rest your head after a day of exploring Zion.
