House Beautiful rated Boerne, Texas the "25th most happy small town in the nation" -- and we certainly have an idea of why they would. Here are a few reasons why we think Boerne, Texas is one of the happiest places in America.
With a population of about 10,000 per the 2010 census, Boerne is a perfect balance between a city and a tiny blip on the map.
It's less than 15 miles from San Antonio, so you can enjoy the city whenever you'd like without enduring the hustle and bustle on a daily basis.
Boerne is home to the "Hill Country Mile," a stretch of locally-owned shops and restaurants on Main Street. You'll find everything from boutique clothing and antiques to cherished family recipes.
There are also two stunning caverns, Cave Without a Name and Cascade Caverns. They're a must-visit while you're here!
You can immerse yourself in nature at Cibolo Nature Center, which has four distinct ecosystems and is popular for birding, hiking, and exploring.
River Road Park also has plenty of hiking and biking trails, and the Guadalupe River State Park is only 15 minutes away!
