The Tennessee Central Railway is a sight to behold, but what we love are the neat train rides you can take from Nashville out to Watertown and beyond. Have you heard of them? Have you ever had such an adventure? There are options like a Murder Mystery night, where you ride the rails to the Jazz Festival in Watertown, or the autumnal ride through the countryside, taking in the views and the Tennessee colors. Plus, an all day trip that takes you to the most perfect wine tasting paradise. Take a look, book a trip!
The Tennessee Central Railway Museum is located in downtown Nashville, a tiny non-profit with an eye for experience and big love of the locomotive.
The museum has been running excursions from the city out into the countryside since 1989, solidifying their niche as Nashville kitsch for the Tennessee local.
With conductors dressed in classic, legendary attire it won't be hard for you to get in the mood.
Or enjoy the darling town of Watertown. So cute! Plus, they have pizza that's to die for. Take a walk around the square and enjoy all this darling little city has to offer.
There are also trips out to the local DelMonaco Winery and Lebanon, plus an option for an interactive train robbery ride and a Polar Express special during the holiday season.
You'll have to check their event calendar to make sure you get on the trip of your dreams. You can gather your littles, get them in the car and let the rushing scenery distract them for hours on end.
And you know what? We bet you wouldn't mind the trip, either. Nothing like a stunning blast to the past.
How neat is that? Check out these other Tennessee adventures, while you're at it!
