Note: as of September 2020, Teddy Bear Town is permanently closed.
When it comes to childhood nostalgia, there is nothing quite as wholesome as the teddy bear. While many of us have kept one or two of these special friends, others have taken their collection of teddy bears and stuffed animals to a whole other level, which can be seen firsthand at Teddy Bear Town in South Dakota:
Located in Hill City, Teddy Bear Town is home to the Guinness Book of World Record's “Largest Teddy Bear Collection,” which is estimated to house 11,000+ stuffed animals!
Billed as being a must-see for all ages, Teddy Bear Town is a summertime attraction that brings in guests from all over the world, many of who bring contributions of their own.
Why do people bring a bear to Teddy Bear Town? By doing this, guests can have a hand in this world record, and add even more unique stuffies to the Teddy Bear Town collection!
Thanks to donations from friends near and far, Teddy Bear Town not only boasts 11,000+ stuffed animals but 11,000+ stuffed animals from every state AND from 24 foreign countries.
Fun fact: There are more teddy bears in Teddy Bear Town than there are residents of Hill City (population: 948).
