From the mountains all the way to the sea and all points in between, South Carolina is smattered with perfect spots to capture incredible images with your phone, your camera, your video recorder or just your memory.

South Carolina is home to at least 269 towns and cities, 127 census-designated places and 106 unincorporated communities. Each one of them has something that's postcard-worthy. Here are 17 of them that absolutely belong on a postcard.

1. Anderson (in Anderson County)

Anderson is a community rich in beauty. The Main Street Program Anderson is a non-profit whose mission is to promote, preserve and revitalize the downtown area. It's working! According to the website Downtown Anderson SC, parking downtown is free so go check it out and take your own postcard perfect photos.

2. Beaufort (in Beaufort County)

Beaufort's colonial era district is divided into 5 historic districts: Downtown, The Bluff, The Point, The Commons and the Northwest Quadrant. No matter which one you visit, they're all postcard-worthy.

3. Hartsville (in Darlington County)

Hartsville has been called charming, innovative and progressive. And at its heart is a community that's family-oriented.

4. Boykin (in Kershaw County)

Boykin is a wonderful little community filled with charm and history. Boykin was the site of the last Civil War battle fought on South Carolina soil.

5. Abbeville (in Abbeville County)

Abbeville's own website boasts that the town is "Pretty. Near. Perfect." That's it...let's put it on a postcard.

6. Boiling Springs (in Spartanburg County)

This park in Boiling Springs has a small wrought iron fence around the spring for which this town is named. Is it boiling? You tell us...

7. Elloree (in Orangeburg County)

Elloree's revitalized downtown is stacked with charm, hospitality and history. According to the town's website, in the first U.S. Census in 1790, there were 54 families recorded as living near what is now Elloree. Today, there are decendents of each of those families living in or near the town.

8. Summerville (in Dorchester County)

Not too long ago this up and coming city had a population of 6,500 people. That was in 1980. By the year 2000 the population had soared to 27,000; and today approximately 47,000 people call Summerville home. But somehow Summerville has managed to retain that small town charm. Postcard perfect. Ahhh Summerville.

9. Whitmire (in Newberry County)

Whitmire is a town that brings back old-fashioned values. With its colorful buildings and southern charm, Whitmire is a picture perfect town in the Palmetto State.

10. Hilda (in Barnwell County)

The small town of Hilda, population under 500, grew up around the railroad more than 100 years ago in 1910. The Barnwell Depot is a treasured landmark for locals. Photographers love it too.

11. Landrum (in Spartanburg County)

Landrum's streets are lined with antique stores and stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It's located just west of Interstate 26 and a must-see the next time you're faced with the option to keep driving or take the Landrum exit.

12. Summerton (in Clarendon County)

Located an hour from Charleston and Columbia, Summerton is a quiet escape from big city living. It's also a stone's throw from Lake Marion.

13. Edgefield (in Edgefield County)

The giant turkeys in Edgefield are like the icing on the cake when you think of all the wonderful things the town offers. Beauty and down-home hospitality are just the beginning of all you'll find in Edgefield. Oh, and lots of postcard opportunities...

14. Georgetown (in Georgetown County)

This small vibrant and gracious city of 9,100 people is the third oldest city in the state. The historic downtown is charming and welcoming with a postcard photo moment at practically every turn of the head.

15. Great Falls (in Chester County)

Downtown Great Falls may be small but it has the look that belongs on a postcard. The Flopeye Fish Festival is celebrated near here on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend every year.

16. Greenville (in Greenville County)

Touted by many as the Top Up and Coming City in South Carolina, the City of Greenville is probably already on a postcard. But you can take your own postcard-worthy photos all around town when you visit.

17. Blackville (in Barnwell County)

God's Acre Healing Springs is located two miles from the center of Blackville. The springs' previous owner willed the springs to "God Almighty" upon his death, so God is the legal owner of the springs. The Town of Blackville is equally intriguing. You can start your self-guided photographers tour at the public library, the town's Old Train Depot (shown here).
