Start your journey at absolute Providence mainstay Pizza J. The shop is full of antique pinball machines you can play while sipping on one of their many local beer options, and the pizza is both comforting and creative. With a crispy crust and innovative topping combinations like butter softened leeks and peas with crispy prosciutto and a mint garnish, as well as all the old classics, you're sure to fall in love with this old school pizza spot.
2. Rhodes Pizza and Restaurant, Pawtucket
Rhodes Pizza is a truly classic style pizzeria in Riverside, just a quick 15 minutes from Pizza J, this spot will transport you back to the heyday of 90's era pizza joints. The pizza comes loaded with toppings and choices range from traditional such as pepperoni to more out of the box like chicken and walnut! The white pizza especially comes highly recommended.
3. Rosa Mia Pizza, Johnston
Just a 20 minute drive from Rhodes Pizza, Rosa Mia will quickly become your favorite for a well done slice of Sicilian pie. Rosa Mia also offers thin crust and gluten free round pizzas, but they are particularly known for the focaccia style thick white crust. And if you're looking to switch it up from a traditional pie, you can't wrong with a calzone at Rosa Mia.
4. Tommy's Pizza, Cranston
To start the second half of your pizza journey, you'll drive 20 minutes to Tommy's Pizza. Founded 1955, this spot knows what they are doing when it comes to the perfect pie. Tommy's is known for their tomato pies, do if you want your meal cheesy, make sure to specify cheese as a topping. The famous crust also comes in a whole wheat option that is equally scrumptious. Specialty options include white pizza with spinach and cheese and bar-b-que pizza. Tommy's also offers signature pies that are well known and quite beloved.
5. Frank and John From Italy, East Greenwich
A family owned spot for multiple decades, Frank and John From Italy is commited to feeding you just like they would feed family. This classic Italian restaurant offers up a slightly thinner, crispy crust with a variety of choose your own toppings. We recommend the delectably simple tomato and basil.
6. Little Country Pizza, Exeter
Your last stop is a 20 minute drive from Frank and John from Italy, giving you plenty of time to digest. Little Country Pizza is the perfect spot to end your pizza journey. The business is family owned and operated, the ingredients and incredibly fresh, and the specialty pies are creative and fun! These thick and crusty pies come with just the right amount of crust bubbles and gooey cheese that will knock your socks off. We recommend the taco or brisket pizza. Or if you've found yourself a bit pizza'd out by now, maybe give the homemade pastrami a try!
