1. Your first stop is the iconic Point Judith Lighthouse in Narragansett.
A great way to kick off your lighthouse road trip in Rhode Island, this lighthouse dates all the way back to 1816. It was built to replace the original lighthouse in this spot, which was destroyed in 1815. The lighthouse is located on the west side of the entrance to Narragansett Bay.

2. Then head to Jamestown to check out the Beavertail Lighthouse.
Beavertail State Park spans 153 acres, and they're all stunning. The park's namesake lighthouse was built in 1856 and now serves as a museum showcasing the structure's history. The trusty old Beavertail Lighthouse tells many interesting tales... can you hear it whisper?
3. The Lime Rock Lighthouse in Newport never disappoints.
This Rhode Island lighthouse was home to Ida Lewis, who served as its keeper from 1857 until her death in 1911. The Ida Lewis Yacht Club, which has its home here, was named in her honor.

4. While you're in the area, check out Goat Island's Newport Harbor Light
Located on the northern part of Goat Island in Newport, this lighthouse is brimming with Rhode Island history, as it was the first to guide mariners into Newport in the early 1800s. In 1988, Newport Harbor Light was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
5. Next, check out the Castle Hill Lighthouse.

6. Cruise over to Little Compton and take a peek at the Sakonnet Point Lighthouse.
This Rhode Island lighthouse is only viewable from across the water, but you can get a great view from Sakonnet Point in Little Compton.
7. Last but not least, head to the Pomham Rocks Lighthouse in East Providence.
This majestic lighthouse sits along the Providence River near the Riverside neighborhood of East Providence. While Pomham Rocks Lighthouse was built in 1871, it became automated in 1974.
