'Tis the most glittering time of the year! And, as we start to count down the days to Christmas - and to the start of 2019 - we've still got plenty of time to celebrate the season. Give yourself the gift of relaxation when you embark on this holiday lights road trip in Pittsburgh. The four-hour road trip will take you to some of the most spectacular holiday lights displays. Even better? Customize the road trip to meet your interests by adding or removing stops along the way.

1. Lakemont Park

Let's start our 2018 holiday lights road trip in Altoona. Sure, it's a bit of a hike from downtown Pittsburgh, about two hours, but it's definitely worth the effort. (And, think of all of the shimmering holiday lights you'll see adorning the houses along your drive.) Holiday Lights on the Lake spans 51 acres of glittering lights and displays. But, that's just the start of your holiday adventure. After your drive, visit Santa's Village. Santa will be on hand to listen to Christmas wishes and to pose for photographs. Take a peek at the model train displays; visit the gift shop; and enjoy a snack. Holiday Lights on the Lake runs each even from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. through January 6, 2019.

2. Fun Fore All

Now, let's head to Fun Fore All in Cranberry for a game or two of mini golf among the twinkling holiday lights. Special events - such as visits from Santa - are planned throughout the season. Visit Holiday Lights at Fun Fore All each evening from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. through January 2, 2018. (Fun Fore All will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.)

3. Phipp’s Conservatory and Botanical Gardens

Our next stop brings us a bit closer to home. Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens has become a holiday tradition for many Pittsburghers. So, it definitely belongs on our road trip. Meander through the festively-decorated indoors before heading outdoors for the sensational Holiday Magic: Let It Glow light display. Let It Glow runs through January 6, 2018.

4. Kennywood Park

Next, we're trekking to Holiday Lights at Kennywood Park. Selected rides will be open at the park that's transformed into a holiday wonderland with more than two million shimmering lights. Whisper your wishes to and get photos with Santa. Watch the holiday lights show at the Lagoon. And, indulge in seasonal treats. Holiday Lights runs on weekend evenings through December 30, 2018.

5. Overly’s Country Christmas

Let's toast the holiday season with an old-fashioned Christmas celebration at Overly's Country Christmas. Drink in the glittering lights along the one-mile driveway leading to the parking lot. Then, visit the Christmas village that features a live nativity scene, horse-drawn carriage and wagon rides, visits from Santa, and plenty of holiday goodies.

Overly's Country Christmas runs through January 1, 2019. It is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

6. Seven Springs

And, we'll head to Seven Springs for the finale of our holiday lights road trip in 2018. The second annual Holiday Lights show boasts more than a million twinkling lights over a four-mile stretch. Holiday Lights at Seven Springs runs Friday to Sunday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. through December 23, 2018.
