Still, you'll find plenty to do, including browsing the quaint shops and dining out. Enjoy a meal at Brown's Country Kitchen. Or, start with dessert at The Snowman. (Just look for the huge snowman and you'll know you've arrived at the right place.)
2. Volant
Trek to Lawrence County for an unforgettable visit to Volant. Snuggled in the heart of Amish Country, the tiny town near Pittsburgh claims only 162 residents. Explore Volant Mill Winery before shopping along Main Street. The street features an assortment of enchanting shops, including Cottage House Antiques, Miss Scarlett's Gift Parlor, and Volant Mills.
3. Foxburg
Sat along the Allegheny River, the tiny town of Foxburg is just 87 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. Explore the charming town on foot or by bike. (Bike rentals are available in town.) Or, tour Foxburg by boat or on a segue. Love wine? Stop by Foxburg Wine Cellars. Chocolate lover? Divani Chocolatier sells handmade chocolate. The Allegheny Grille promises sweeping views of Foxburg and an eclectic menu.
4. Smicksburg
Less than 50 - yes, you read right! - Pennsylvanians call the enchanting town of Smicksburg home. Just over 60 miles from downtown Pittsburgh, Smicksburg promises a tranquil experience. Shopping's popular with most visitors. The tiny town features such quaint shops as Smicksburg Country Store, Time Works, and Primitive Peddler. Wine lovers can enjoy a wine tasting at Windgate Vineyards. Or, sit down to a delicious meal at Country Junction Restaurant or Mable's Table.

5. Parker
Full disclosure on this one. Parker's not technically a tiny town. It is, however, the smallest city in America with just 800 residents. Only an hour from Pittsburgh, Parker sits along the Allegheny River. Spend the day outdoors by kayaking, boating, or canoeing in the river. Cap off your day with a scrumptious meal at the Riverstone Lounge & Grill or Bob's Place Restaurant.
6. Avella
Journey back through time when you go to Avella, home of Meadowcroft Rockshelter, known as North America's oldest "site of human habitation." After visiting the prehistoric village, snap photos of Pine Bank Covered Bridge or Wilson's Mill Covered Bridge. Or, drive along Shades of Dead Road, said to be haunted.
7. Ohiopyle
Ohiopyle, of course, is world renown for the more than 22,000 acre Ohiopyle State Park. No visit to Ohiopyle would be complete without a trip to the park. Hike along one of the trails that take you to such natural wonders as Ohiopyle Falls or Cucumber Falls. The tiny town itself, home to less than 60, is the perfect spot for a delicious meal. Stop by Falls Market, Peddler's Pizza, or Ohiopyle Bakery & Sandwich Shoppe.
