Sometimes being in the city gets so overwhelming. Between the crowds, the pollution, and the traffic, it's a wonder that anyone can live there without going totally BANANAS! Well, if you feel like you're about to break and are considering moving to a more peaceful town, you're in luck because we've put together a list of beautiful small towns in Pennsylvania that will give you a break from the hectic pace of urban life.
1. Lititz
Located about six miles north of Lancaster, Lititz is one of the most charming towns in Pennsylvania. In fact, it has been ranked as the best small town in the state.
2. Emmaus
Have you ever read the book or seen the movie Marley and Me? It is based upon a real family that lived in Emmaus, and was also filmed, in part, here.
3. Greensburg
Greensburg can be found in the southeastern corner of the state. It's a destination for culture and in 2007 was ranked as one of the best places in the U.S. to retire by U.S. News & World Report.
4. Broomall
David Miscavige, the leader of the Church of Scientology is from Broomall, as well as Jeffrey Zaslow and Joe Grady.
5. Allison Park
Allison Park is a suburb of Pittsburgh that has about 21,000 residents. In the 18th century, it was called Talley Cavey instead of Allison Park.
6. Wyomissing
Wyomissing was a contender for the "Best Places to Live in Pennsylvania" rankings for Money magazine, and it's also a Tree City USA. The most exciting thing about Wyomissing is that Taylor Swift is from here.
7. Butler
Butler county is considered to be part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. In 2012, Smithsonian Magazine named it the seventh best small town in Pennsylvania.
8. Jenkintown
Jenkintown is on the outskirts of Philadelphia, located about ten miles north of the city. Bradley Cooper is from Jenkintown.
9. Carlisle
In 2010, Forbes ranked Carlisle (along with Harrisburg) the second best place to raise a family. Wow! Dickinson College makes its home here so it is a college town as well as a wonderful place for anyone to live.
10. Tunkhannock
Found in the mountains, Tunkhannock is about 30 minutes from Wilkes-Barre. The name means "bend-in-river place."
