1. Cashtown Inn – 1325 Old Route 30, Orrtanna, PA, 17353

Your road trip to the creepiest haunted hotels in Pennsylvania begins with a stop at the Cashtown Inn, a resting spot for travelers since the late 1700s. The famous inn, not too far from Gettysburg, took center stage not long ago, appearing on the popular television show Ghost Hunters. Visitors to the Cashtown Inn tell of hearing doors slam and feeling as though someone is lying next to them in bed. One room is purported to feature a rocking chair that rocks by itself.

2. The Buck Hotel & Tavern – 32 W Market Street, Jonestown, PA, 17038

Weary travelers have rested their heads at the Buck Hotel and Tavern in Jonestown since 1804. Don't fret if you notice objects have moved from one place to another when you were asleep or out of your mom. Or, if the water suddenly turns on. That's probably just the gregarious fella (ahem, ghost) who likes to play with the water and the electricity. And, keep your eyes out for an apparition of a little girl wandering the halls of The Buck Hotel.

3. The Inn At Jim Thorpe – 24 Broadway, Jim Thorpe, PA, 18229

Don't get too engrossed in your favorite show when staying at the Inn At Jim Thorpe, because the gregarious resident spirits just might start turning it off and on. Oh, and expect the unexpected. You might just go to sleep with all the chairs in the room properly upright, only to wake up to find them all upside down. And, if you're like other guests, you may discover strange orbs appear on the photographs you snap.

4. Historic Hotel Bethlehem – 437 Main Street, Bethlehem, PA, 18018

Sure, you might experience the paranormal at the Historic Hotel Bethlehem, but fear not. The spirits are said to be friendly and to even have a sense of humor. For the ultimate paranormal experience, reserve the "Room with a Boo," room 932 on the ninth floor. Guests have told tales of waking in the middle of the night to a man asking why they are in his room, only to turn on the light and find no one is there. Some tell of the bathroom's wallpaper turning pink, lights flickering on and off, and papers mysteriously flying off of the desk.

5. The Logan Inn –10 West Ferry Street, New Hope, PA, 18938

The sweet scent of lavender wafts from Room 6 at the Logan Inn but it doesn't come from anything placed there by hotel management or staff. It is, so goes local legend, the scent of Emily Lutz, the resident ghost, whose reflection has been seen in the mirror in Room 6. Emily, who dons a long dress, has also been seen wandering the inn, including in the restaurant and in the bathroom.

6. The Railroad House Inn – 280 West Front Street, Marietta, PA, 17547

Don't become too alarmed if you wake in the middle of the night to the apparition of a man sitting at the edge of your bed. He appears to guests at The Railroad House Inn from time to time. You may also spot an old woman, gently rocking back and forth on a rocking chair, as she knits. Room 6, however, is said to be the most haunted with guests being filled with dread when they pass by the room from which strange noises emanate.

7. The Gettysburg Hotel – 1 Lincoln Square, Gettysburg, PA, 17325

Your final two stops on this haunted road trip are in Gettysburg, arguably the most haunted city in all of PA. The Gettysburg Hotel, which served as a hospital during the Civil War, is said to still house some of those who witnessed the war firsthand. An injured solider, for example, has been seen strolling in the hallways while Rachel, a nurse, often visits guest rooms, rummaging through guest drawers and belongings in search of supplies to help her patients.

8. The Farnsworth House Inn – 401 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA, 17325

Confederate soldiers stayed at the Farnsworth House Inn during the Civil War. It was also the site of the only civilian casualty of the Battle of Gettysburg. Jenny Wade was in the home at the time of the Battle of Gettysburg when a stray bullet struck and killed her. Visitors at The Farnsworth House Inn tell of hearing voices singing in the basement and strange noises coming from the attic.
