The following road trip features just a sampling of spots in the state where you can view the spectacular fall foliage. 1. Tioga State Forest –1 Nessmuk Lane, Wellsboro, PA 16901
Start your autumn adventure at Tioga State Forest. The forest boasts several scenic overlooks, including the Pine Creek Vista and Mountain Creek Vista, that promise spellbinding views of the forest as it bursts with the colors of fall. 2. Pine Creek Gorge – Watson Township, PA 17740
Our next stop is within Tioga State Forest: The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. Admire the vibrant colors of fall along Pine Creek Gorge. You can view the colorful gorge from the scenic vistas in Colton Point State Park or Leonard Harrison State Park. Drive through the charming town of Renovo as you make your way to Sproul State Forest. Travel along the High Plateau Scenic Byway along State Route 44, beginning at the Snow Shoe Exit (147) for a breathtaking bird's eye view of the forest painted in the colors of fall. Next up: The Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette, where you'll enjoy stunning views of the fall foliage and the area's elk. Or, embark on one of the hiking trails, such as the two mile Shawmut Trail that will take you through vibrant wooded areas, peaceful meadows, and rolling farmland.
