1. Laurel Highlands Scenic Byway
Drive all or part of the 68 mile Laurel Highlands Scenic Byway for sensational views of the autumn landscape. The picturesque road winds past rolling hills and farmland as well as such popular spots as Ohiopyle State Park and Fallingwater.
2. Route 22 to Saltsburg
Take Route 22 to Saltsburg for a spectacular show of fall color that ends at the Kiskiminetas River, the perfect spot to view the rustic trees flanking the river on both sides.
3. National Road Route 40
Merge onto National Road Route 40 anywhere along Fayette, Somerset, or Washington Counties. Enjoy wide open roads, hugged by the vibrant fall trees, then slow down as you drive through such charming towns as Brownsville, Hopwood, and Uniontown.
4. Lake Wilhelm Scenic Byway
Discover the unspoiled beauty of the Pennsylvania countryside as you embark on the 6.4 mile Lake Wilhelm Scenic Byway in Mercer County. End your journey with a stop at Lake Wilhelm.
5. Route 18 to Raccoon Creek State Park
Travel along Route 18 as you head to Raccoon Creek State Park, about 30 miles from downtown Pittsburgh then spend a few hours, or a day, at the picturesque state park.
6. Route 30 Latrobe to Ligonier (or vice-versa)
Head out on Route 30 from Latrobe to Ligonier or vice-versa. Pass charming farms, rolling hills, and an endless display of fall foliage.
7. McConnells Mill State Park
Spend a lovely autumn day at McConnells Mill State Park. Drive along the leaf-covered paths that will lead you through a charming covered bridge.
